Coach David A. Pool
Director of Athletics/Head Football Coach

I am a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. I was a defensive back for the University of Tennessee under Coach Johnny Majors. While at UT, I was named to the First Team All-South Eastern Conference Freshman Team and was a member of Tennessee’s 1985 Sugar Bowl and SEC Championship team. I transferred my sophomore year to Carson-Newman, where I was a defensive back and receiver. I was named to the First Team South Atlantic conference twice and was a two-time College All-American. I played in three NAIA national championship games that resulted in two national titles. As a dual sport athlete, I also qualified for the NAIA National Track Meet in 1988 with a time of 10.37 in 100m.

I am a veteran National Football League Defensive Back that contributed to the Buffalo Bills’ success in reaching Super Bowl XXV and I also spent two years playing for the New England Patriots.

My vast coaching experience includes serving as head football coach at Harmony Community School, where I initiated the prep football program that played college JV teams. During this time, we had big wins over Harvegrave Military, Mt. Union College, the University of Kentucky’s JV team, and Marshall University’s JV team. In our first year, we were undefeated and considered National Champions by Scout.com. I coached at Harmony Community School for two years, and more than 50 young men that I directly coached are currently attending college. At Campbellsville University, I was the associate athletic director, associate head football coach, and head track and field coach. Additionally, I was head football coach at Landmark Christian High School, Cincinnati; head reserve basketball coach at Harmony Community School, Cincinnati; and assistant head coach/co-defensive coordinator and defensive back/special teams coordinator at Mount Saint Joseph College, Cincinnati. I also have five years’ experience coaching track and field at the collegiate and high school levels.

I have been very active in community service as well. I have served as elder and assistant for Foundation of Life Ministries; youth minister for Overflow Ministries; a volunteer for United Way and Athletics in Action; basketball coach for Woodlawn Youth Tennis; camp director for Champions for Christ Football Camp; and executive director for the Corey Dillon Foundation.
