In keeping with the tradition of institutions of higher education in early America, Temple Baptist College was started in 1972 as an outgrowth of a religious consciousness. The members of Temple Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Chester E. Ratliff, became burdened about a place where Christian men and women could be trained in ministry, business, and education. There were no institutions of higher learning within the Greater Cincinnati area that offered a quality arts and sciences education with the values, philosophy, and doctrinal positions of Christians who have historically been called Baptists.
We're so glad that you've taken an interest in our beloved college and I want to personally thank you for taking the time to learn more about OMW and the programs we have to offer. You are inquiring about Ohio Mid-Western at a truly profound and momentous time in our history. Some of our main goals for the upcoming year include three tiers of expansion: student body, campus, and curriculum.
OMW has an outstanding group of alumni residing throughout the United States and in foreign countries. Upon graduation, each new graduate is encouraged to participate in the ministry of the Alumni.
The primary purpose of the Alumni is to provide a network of Christian fellowship for former students and to assist the college through prayer, recruitment, financial support, and the promotion of worthwhile projects.
"Ohio Mid-Western College exists to equip Christians, without respect to race, color, or national origin, to serve Jesus Christ by providing an arts and sciences education with professional majors based upon the absolute values and tenets of the Christian faith as historically believed by Baptists."
